Liz, a former BYU softball athlete, discovered pickleball in 2021 after moving from Texas to Utah. The sport instantly rekindled her competitive spirit, which had been dormant since her collegiate softball days in 2001.
With dedication and disciplined practice, Liz rapidly advanced from a 3.0-level player to earning medals in 5.0 events. Her natural coaching ability complements her playing skills, allowing her to effectively guide others toward improvement.
In addition to her playing career, Liz founded UR Pickleball, a non-profit organization supporting emerging professional pickleball players throughout Utah. As the team's head coach, she combines her athletic experience and passion for player development to nurture the next generation of pickleball talent.
Clayton Boydston, a former semi-professional soccer player and CRBN-sponsored athlete, discovered pickleball in summer 2021 and quickly became immersed in the sport. Through methodical study of professional matches and dedicated practice, he transformed from a 3.0-rated player to a professional competitor in remarkable time.
Now in his second year on the professional tour with an impressive 5.9 DUPR rating, Clayton's competitive achievements include championships at both the Best Of Utah Pickleball Tournament and the Utah Pickleball Masters. His rapid rise in the sport demonstrates his exceptional athletic ability and commitment.
As a coach, Clayton leverages his analytical approach to the game, quickly identifying key areas for player improvement. His combination of professional playing experience and technical understanding creates a coaching experience that helps players of all levels make significant strides in their performance.
Pickleball is like tennis, badminton, and ping-pong had a love child—fast, strategic, and ridiculously fun. Whether you're a total newbie or looking to sharpen your skills, now’s the perfect time to jump in and play.
Born in 1965 on Bainbridge Island, pickleball started as a backyard experiment and is now one of the fastest-growing sports in the U.S. Fun fact: It got its name from a dog named Pickles, who loved chasing down stray balls. Fast forward to today, and millions of players nationwide are obsessed.
The Court: About the size of a doubles badminton court.
The Serve: Diagonal, underhand, and only the serving side scores points.
The Bounce Rule: Both sides must let the ball bounce once before volleys are allowed.
The Kitchen: No volleys in the 7-foot no-volley zone (aka “The Kitchen”).
The Win: First to 11 points, must win by 2.
